Terms & Conditions

Tournal ("the Service") is provided by Rockhunters Project ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or continuing to use the Service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Your contract for the use of Tournal is with Rockhunters Project. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.

1. The service

Tournal is a personal productivity web application offering tasks with reminders, notes, a daily journal, a secrets vault, and an AI assistant that answers questions using your own entries. Core access is provided free of charge; optional one-time contributions ("Buy me a coffee") are voluntary and do not unlock features.

2. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction to form a binding contract, or have your guardian's consent.
  • If you use Tournal on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.

3. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:

  • use the Service for unlawful purposes or to store or distribute unlawful content;
  • engage in fraud, spam, or abusive automated activity;
  • infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
  • upload malware, probe or scan our systems, bypass technical limits, scrape the Service, or otherwise interfere with its security or availability;
  • reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the tasks, notes, journal entries, and vault records you create. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, and process that content solely to operate the Service for you. You are responsible for having the rights to any content you input.

5. AI features

  • The assistant generates responses from your stored entries and from a third-party language model. Outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete — verify anything important.
  • Outputs are not financial, legal, medical, or other regulated professional advice.
  • You are responsible for your prompts and for how you use outputs.
  • We may filter, restrict, or refuse outputs, and remove content that breaches these Terms.

6. Intellectual property

Rockhunters Project retains all rights in the Service, including its software, design, documentation, and branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service.

7. Service availability

We aim to keep Tournal available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change, and reminders depend on your device and browser permissions. Keep your own backups of anything critical.

8. Payments, contributions and taxes

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Contributions are one-time charges in Indian Rupees and are not subscriptions. See our refund policy.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using Tournal and delete your account at any time; on deletion, your content is removed from active systems.

10. Warranties and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

11. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

12. Changes, law and contact

We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the date above. These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over disputes. You may not assign your rights without our consent; we may assign ours in a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
